Health Prevention Meetings - 2021
School bullying: preventing the downward spiral
In France, more than one in ten primary and secondary school pupils is a victim of bullying. Later, in high school, almost 4% of pupils are still affected. Long considered a mere playground nuisance, school bullying and its extension onto social networks are actually having a devastating effect on their victims.
For several years now, Ramsay Sante Foundation has been involved in youth prevention. For Health Prevention Meetings 2021, we wanted to understand the mechanism of school bullying and its consequences on mental health. We also wanted to showcase original, high-impact initiatives in local areas and on social networks.
With this in mind, a 2-session webinar was held, moderated by Christophe Barbier, with an overview of the current situation, followed by innovative and remarkable initiatives to prevent bullying at school.
