About prevention and health meetings
To mobilize and accelerate the sharing of prevention knowledge, in 2018 the Ramsay Santé Corporate Foundation launched the 1st edition of the. Health Prevention Meetings. Nearly 15 French and international speakers came to discuss the current place of prevention in the French healthcare system and to present different experiences abroad.
In 2019, the 2nd edition on the theme " Does being young seriously damage your health? " is placed under the patronage of the Ministry of Solidarity and Health. The event focused on young people's relationship with preventive health care, thanks to a cross-section of views from health professionals, prevention experts and numerous players in the field. Inaugurated by Gabriel Attal, Secretary of State to the Minister of Education and Youth, this 2nd edition used the results of the citizens' consultation organized among young people to fuel the day's debates.
Not very receptive to barrier measures and prevention, young people are going through the global health crisis with a feeling of invulnerability. Yet their mental health is an issue, sadly embodied in the high stagnation of suicide figures, the 2nd leading cause of death among young people after road accidents. For the 3rd edition of Health Prevention Meetings, Ramsay Sante Foundation wanted to understand why the figures are not falling, and to identify existing solutions.
In France, more than one in ten primary and secondary school pupils is a victim of bullying, and nearly 4% of secondary school pupils are still affected. Long considered a mere playground nuisance, school bullying and its extension onto social networks are actually having a devastating effect on their victims.
La Ramsay Sante Foundation, continuing its investment in health prevention for young people, wanted to understand the mechanism of school bullying and its consequences on mental health, and then present original and impactful actions on territories or social networks through two webinars during the 4th edition of its Health Prevention Meetings in 2021.
In March 2022, the 5th edition looked at the subject of screens: how they have become an integral part of teenagers' lives, why their use is so addictive, what psychological and physical consequences they can have on health, and how institutions, politicians, associations and startups have taken up the subject from a prevention angle.
