What is stress?

Categories FAQ
Stress
General

There are two types of stress: chronic stress, which we try to avoid, and acute (one-off) stress. Acute stress enables us to manage a situation in response to an unpredictable or new event, by either fleeing or coping. Sometimes these strategies don't work, and our bodies become immobilized as if paralyzed by fear. This stress pushes you to act and excel, whereas chronic stress results from repeated and prolonged exposure to uncomfortable situations. It can lead to extreme fatigue and have harmful effects on your health, so don't hesitate to consult a health professional.
