Why do we feel more stressed in times of health crisis?
Fear, worry and stress are normal reactions in times of uncertainty. It is therefore legitimate and understandable to feel more stressed during a health crisis. The anxiety of contracting the disease is not the only source of stress: the restrictive measures put in place to contain the crisis involve major changes to daily life. Isolation, lack of social interaction and physical contact with family, friends and colleagues, as well as childcare, lack of physical activity, telecommuting and temporary unemployment are all stress factors that can affect anyone. So it's important not to neglect your mental and physical health in these difficult times, and to consult a specialist or at least take the time you need to recharge your batteries, if you feel the need.
