Many scientists agree: laughter is good for your health! It reduces physical tension and blood pressure, and improves blood oxygenation. It also reduces the production of cortisol, the hormone responsible for stress. A worldwide movement called Laughter Yoga has sprung up, combining laughter with breathing techniques borrowed from yoga. A simple laugh for no reason, initially approached as a group exercise, quickly turns into real, contagious laughter. Studies have shown a significant reduction in stress after just three weeks of laughter sessions.
