Between pressure and fatigue, how can you tell the difference between simple stress and real depression?
Feeling stressed is a perfectly natural phenomenon, the purpose of which is to help us adapt to a situation. Stress becomes a problem when the duration and intensity of the pressure we're under are such that we're unable to cope. In some cases, chronic stress can lead to depression (although this may have other origins). In this case, the symptoms are psychomotor slowdown, loss of interest in one's environment, loss of pleasure and, in the most severe cases, suicidal ideation.
