Can you die from lack of sleep?

General

We can't die of sleep deprivation without having some other associated pathology. On the other hand, sleep deprivation can severely complicate day-to-day life, and in the long term, encourage the onset of chronic illnesses such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and high blood pressure. If you're sleep-deprived and have trouble sleeping, don't hesitate to consult your doctor, who will be able to advise you and give you a treatment tailored to your needs.
