How (and why) do exceptional disturbances affect sleep (the day before a trip, the day before going back to school, etc.)?
When exceptional events occur in your life, such as the start of a new school year or a trip, you may experience what is known as occasional or transitory insomnia, which lasts for one or more nights. This insomnia is caused by stress and will disappear once the stressful event has passed. To anticipate these sleep disturbances, it's best to adopt behaviors that help you fall asleep, such as eating lightly at dinner, avoiding exposure to screens, and avoiding smoking, soft drinks or alcohol. Encourage activities such as reading, sophrology or relaxation.
