The World Health Organization defines physical activity as any movement produced by muscles (biceps, abdominals...), responsible for an increase in energy expenditure. This definition includes "sporting" activity (carried out within a specific framework with rules and a principle of comThis definition includes "sporting" activity (carried out within a precise framework with rules and a principle of competition), but also any daily activity such as housework, gardening, walking or climbing stairs. WHO recommends at least 60 minutes of moderate-to-sustained physical activity per day for children and adolescents, and at least 150 minutes of moderate activity or 75 minutes of sustained activity per week for adults.
