Can lack of physical activity linked to a sedentary lifestyle promote/aggravate diabetes?

Sedentary lifestyle
General

The rise in cases of type 2 diabetes (induced diabetes, accounting for 90% of all diabetes cases) has been partly associated with sedentary lifestyles. It has been shown that the risk of developing type 2 diabetes is increased by 112% during long periods of inactivity, notably through a sharp rise in the risk of obesity. To reduce this risk, the WHO recommends moderate activity of at least 30 minutes a day, at least 5 times a week, accompanied by a varied and balanced diet, and the cessation of smoking for smokers.
