What is ORGANIC? Organic farming

Categories FAQ

A product is considered "organic" only if it comes from organic farming and therefore meets precise specifications, including the criteria listed below:
- No use of synthetic chemical products such as pesticides, fertilizers, weedkillers, etc.
- No use of GMOs
- Processed products must contain at least 95% organically produced ingredients.
To identify an organic product, there are two official labels: The Eurofeuille logo (at European level) and the AB logo (at French level).
The aim of organic farming is to respect the environment and protect the climate, biodiversity, human health and animal welfare.

However, organic labels do not guarantee the nutritional quality of products. In fact, an organic product may be too fatty, too sweet or too salty. Finally, the Agriculture Biologique (AB) label does not guarantee that the product is of French origin, but only that it contains at least 95% organic agricultural products in the case of processed products.1
