What is satiety? Satiety? Hunger?
We don't eat continuously. The beginning and end of each eating episode are governed by three main types of biological signals that follow one another: first comes the sensation of hunger, which, via internal signals, encourages us to eat. During the meal, the sensation of satiation gradually appears, prompting us to stop eating when we're full. This is followed by a phase of satiety, which curbs our desire to eat for a variable length of time, until hunger returns.
