What causes obesity?
Obesity is a multifactorial disease, which can be caused by genetic, environmental, psychological and dietary factors. Indeed, an imbalance between energy intake (= diet) and energy expenditure (= activity) generally leads to an accumulation of body reserves in the form of fat. Today's lifestyles tend to favour weight gain: a diet too rich in high-energy foods (fatty and sugary) and a physical activity that is constantly decreasing due to increasingly sedentary leisure, transport and working patterns. If you're overweight or suffering from obesity, take stock with your doctor to determine the causes and find appropriate solutions.
