Why do we snack?
In a recent study, pleasure topped the list of motivations for eating outside mealtimes. The need to curb hunger comes next, followed by the need to relax. Typical profiles of French snackers were drawn up: aperitif enthusiasts, "busy" people who snack in place of meals, people who snack for pleasure and to unwind, regulars on coffee breaks at work, and finally, solitary snackers who eat outside of mealtimes, most often at home.
