Sedentary lifestyle

Sedentary time, i.e. time spent sitting (at work, in the car, in front of the TV...), is constantly increasing in our societies (≈ 12 hours/day on working days). Yet our energy expenditure is minimal when we're sitting down. Reducing sedentary time, in favor of more nomadic activities (physical activity during leisure rather than screens, active transport such as walking or cycling, etc.) increases our energy expenditure and thus helps to rebalance the energy balance. It also reduces the risk of many diseases.
