Do plant proteins have the same functions as animal proteins?
Proteins are made up of amino acids, some of which cannot be synthesized by humans. Unlike animal proteins, plant proteins generally do not contain all the amino acids that humans need in sufficient quantities. This is why it is necessary to vary the sources of plant proteins (cereals, legumes) in order to provide the body with all the amino acids it needs. In terms of digestibility, animal proteins are generally slightly more digestible than plant proteins.
