Dairy products: friend or foe?
Dairy products are high in calcium and vitamin D, essential for building and maintaining bone tissue. It is recommended to consume 2 dairy products a day, and 3 for children, adolescents, pregnant women and the elderly. What's more, recent studies have shown certain benefits: for example, consumption of dairy products is associated with a reduced risk of colorectal cancer and certain chronic diseases (notably cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes). Consumption of dairy products is therefore beneficial at any age.
