Are stress and diet responsible for acne?

stress and diet

Stress is one of the factors implicated in the onset and aggravation of acne: the numerous nerve cells surrounding the sebaceous gland, under the effect of stress, produce a substance that stimulates the production of sebum, the excess of which clogs pores and causes the appearance of pimples. As for diet, its role is not supported by solid scientific data, despite patients' accounts incriminating certain foods such as chocolate and cold meats. A possible role for dairy products and simple sugars, if consumed in excess, has recently been suggested, but remains to be confirmed.
