Screen addiction

In the more specific case of adolescence, video games can be a learning and socialization tool that meets a specific need in this period of life. The use of video games and/or the Internet is an excellent way of immersing oneself in strong, exciting emotions, while practicing control over them by manipulating various parameters (avatars) as one pleases. So it's often during this period that addiction sets in (diverting the youngster from other social activities). However, adults are also also affected by excessive of of video games, accompanied by the appearance of signs of dependency (such as exclusive screen behaviour, a feeling of "loss of control", with a sense of withdrawal or discomfort when disconnected, or a negative impact on social life). so much so that the average age of people considered "addicts is 21 years old.
