What's the most effective way to quit smoking?

Several methods are recognized as effective for quitting smoking. None of them is 100% reliable, but all significantly increase the chances of success. Drug treatments (varenicline, bupropion, nicotine substitutes) score highest, but individual or group coaching programs and certain psychotherapeutic approaches have also proved effective. Finally, health authorities agree that a combination of several methods facilitates cessation.
