Stopping method

To quit smoking, it's advisable to use a combination of medicated and non-medicated methods. The former are largely based on nicotine substitutes, which are available in patch form as well as in gum, lozenges, sprays and other forms. There are also medications based on other molecules, such as bupropion and varenicline, designed to suppress the desire to smoke or relieve withdrawal symptoms. These treatments should be discussed with your doctor. Non-medicinal methods include cognitive-behavioural therapies, which can help you modify your behaviour, or relaxation, sophrology or physical activity, which can help relieve anxiety symptoms or psychic disorders linked to addiction.
