Yes, screens can be effective educational tools when used in a thoughtful, supervised way.

They can help stimulate learning and encourage curiosity. Whether in the form of explanatory videos, visual presentations or interactive activities such as quizzes, these resources help children learn at their own pace.

A systematic review of the literature has shown that the use of interactive digital technologies by children can improve certain skills in children, such as receptive language, executive functions and memory. Screens are sometimes used in the classroom as a complementary learning tool to traditional media.

While they are valuable classroom tools for certain activities, paper and pencil remain irreplaceable for practices such as reading and writing, essential to the development of basic cognitive skills.

It's important to strike a balance between digital and traditional media, to get the best out of both.
