What are the social consequences of screen addiction?
People considered "hyperconnected", with the appearance of signs of dependency (exclusive behavior for screens, feeling of "loss of control" with a sensation of lack or discomfort when disconnected), tend to withdraw into themselves, losing interest in real life, in everything that's outside the screen, and thus disinvesting in relationships with their loved ones. Excessive screen use can lead to social isolation. A study conducted by the psychology department of the University of California even shows that the heavy presence of screens make them less social.
