Introducing C'est vrai ça?
Is this for real? an independent citizens' initiative that brings together ordinary people motivated by a desire to combat fake news.
Really?
1. is a citizens' initiative that is independent of any political, religious or trade union movement (independent, in fact!) and brings together private individuals motivated by a desire to combat fake news.
2. aims to expose and debunk fake news wherever it is found on LinkedIn. As such, "C'est vrai, ça?" produces and distributes articles deciphering current fake news and relays the articles and decipherings of other similar movements. "C'est vrai, ça?" is also there to provide fact-based insight whenever its name is tagged by a member of the community.
3. doesn't deal with beliefs or opinions, but with fake news, i.e. content that is false and could have harmful consequences (we don't care if you believe that the Earth is flat, as long as you don't also say that it's the Jews' fault and that they should be persecuted for it!)
4. as far as possible, adopt a pedagogical tone and argue (even if it's hard with the conspiracy theorists) calmly, providing relevant sources. refuse to engage in sterile exchanges with opponents who don't back up their comments with facts and sources that allow them to be verified.
5. recommends calm, serene, non-aggressive exchanges, and reminds you when necessary. 6. relies on a network of experts in all hair types (short, long, curly and even rebellious).
