Biography of Marcel Rufo

Pr Marcel Rufo

After studying literature, philosophy and Latin, Marcel Rufo passed his internship at Marseille hospitals in 1969, became assistant head of clinic in 1975 and then Associate Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in 1982.

In 1999, he set up the Espace Arthur adolescent unit. His work has been essentially clinical, involving consultations with children and their parents of all ages.

From 2004 to 2007, he was medical director of the Maison de Solenn-Maison des adolescents in Cochin.

In September 2007, he returned to Marseille, took over the management of the Espace Arthur and carried out the project to set up a Mediterranean adolescent center, of which he has been medical director since 2010.

In January 2014, he set up his own practice, and since January 2016, he has been running a care unit for teenagers, "Le Passage", located in the suburbs of Marseille, catering for middle and high school students.

Professor Emeritus at Aix-Marseille University, he teaches and lectures nationally and internationally.
