What is a vegan eating habit?
A vegan or vegetarian diet excludes all products of animal origin: meat, fish, dairy products, eggs, honey and their by-products. It is sometimes part of a vegan lifestyle whose philosophy is to reject all forms of animal exploitation, and therefore excludes shoes and clothing made from leather, wool, silk or fur, cosmetics tested on animals, etc. When following a vegan diet, it is important to ensure that the body obtains all the essential nutrients it needs, such as proteins, essential fatty acids, iron, calcium and vitamin D, by choosing a variety of foods and ensuring a balanced intake. As vitamin B12 is found only in animal products, supplementation is essential.
