Skipping a meal / Finishing your plate

Eating regular meals helps to set the pace of the day, and therefore to control weight. Several studies have shown a strong link between skipping breakfast and the risk of obesity in younger children and teenagers. After sleeping, the body has fasted for several hours: breakfast provides energy for the muscles and brain to start the day. The composition of breakfast is important in determining its quality. We recommend eating 1 cereal, 1 fruit, 1 dairy product and 1 drink. Avoid cereal products with too much sugar, and opt for (wholemeal) bread, which has a greater satiety-enhancing effect.
