How do you get hepatitis B?
The hepatitis B virus is transmitted mainly through unprotected sexual intercourse via sexual secretions and blood. This virus is highly contagious (100 times more than HIV). To protect against it, vaccination, which is effective for life, is compulsory for infants born after January 1, 2018. We recommend that you vaccinate your child before the age of 16. If you are aged 16 or over, you can still benefit from vaccination, if you are considered to be at risk. Don't hesitate to talk to your doctor. Condoms are also a means of preventing the virus and protecting against other STIs.
