Is the electronic cigarette an effective way to stop smoking?
E-cigarettes can help you reduce your cigarette consumption, or even stop smoking altogether. However, there is currently insufficient evidence to suggest that e-cigarettes are any more or less effective than approved smoking cessation treatments. What's more, although the risks and harm associated with e-cigarettes are lower than those of tobacco, they are not without health effects. It should therefore be considered as a temporary cessation aid and not as an alternative to tobacco, and its benefit/risk balance should be weighed up. What's more, it can act as an incentive for younger smokers.
