Childhood Adolescence and diabetes

Childhood Adolescence & Diabetes

The association Enfance Adolescence & Diabète aims to educate children with type 1 diabetes and support their families and carers.

Enfance, Adolescence & Diabète trains and informs healthcare professionals and the general public to help children acquire autonomy in managing their diabetes.

The aim of its "La Diab'compagnie" project is to create individualized healthcare paths for these young people, particularly those in fragile situations. This is achieved by setting up a mobile multi-professional team to be in the young people's usual living conditions, and through 2 programs: the first focusing on training and support, and the second on day-to-day difficulties and solutions.

  • Collectif Cocktail is a Toulouse-based association whose projects combine art and culture (cabaret). Following on from its Cabaret chez Germaine, the association is developing "Une brioche dans le four", a photo and radio workshop project. Aimed at supporting mothers in Toulouse's Grand Mirail area throughout their maternity period (before, during and after childbirth), this project helps prevent the risk of post-partum depression. Collectif Cocktail aims to raise awareness of preventive health issues affecting young mothers in precarious circumstances, through a space for rest and sharing.

  • Mixah works to make sporting activities accessible to people who are the furthest removed from them, in order to contribute to their social integration. The association is developing a project dedicated to disabled workers, "Health through sport". The aim is to prevent the various health problems associated with posture maintenance and repeated movements in the workplace, as well as to develop social skills. This is achieved by setting up adapted sports activities during working hours (in the ESAT's protected environment) to promote physical and psychological well-being. Activities are also offered in the open to encourage socialization and social integration.

  • Toulouse University Club (TUC) The Toulouse University Club (TUC) is committed to the fight against addictions, particularly alcohol, and has launched a number of prevention initiatives aimed at young people. In particular, they have created a card game to tackle addiction-related issues in an innovative way. The aim of this initiative is to develop young people's psychosocial skills through games, particularly in schools, with the support of the Toulouse education authority. The association has also set up a three-person team to play a game on the themes of sexist and sexual violence.

  • Unis Cité Hérault - Occitanie is an association whose mission is to promote and develop civic engagement, social diversity and respect for differences. Among its various activities, the association organizes a team-based voluntary civic service, open to all young people aged 18 to 25 (up to 30 for young people with disabilities), from all social, cultural and educational backgrounds. It is developing "Ambassadeurs de la Santé Mentale", a project designed to train and support a group of 12 young volunteers in Montpellier and Béziers, to meet young people in vulnerable situations. Through a series of workshops, the volunteers' commitment will help them to speak out, promote psychological well-being and disseminate reliable resources, while helping to identify and refer young people in distress to local prevention and care services.
