CIUP inaugurates a cross-fit platform

1st year of partnership between Ramsay Sante Foundation and the Cité internationale universitaire de Paris, dedicated to physical activity

Since the health crisis, health professionals have been warning of an increase in depressive disorders, particularly among young people. In fact, at the end of 2020, 93% of 15-25 year-olds felt that the health crisis had aggravated the mental fragility of their generation1. In addition, the period of study, during which young people leave their immediate families and find themselves confronted with an independent life, can sometimes be a difficult time for some.

To safeguard the mental health of young people, the Ramsay Santé Corporate Foundation and the Cité internationale universitaire de Paris joined forces at the end of 2021 to sign a three-year partnership working to promote the mental health and well-being of residents and researchers.

The 1st part of this partnership has enabled us to finance a free Crossfit platform accessible to all, and to pay for sports subscriptions for residents in precarious situations. The aim is to facilitate access to sporting activities for all residents, in order to avoid isolation and enable them to rediscover their social ties through sport, and consequently improve their psychological balance. Access to the Crossfit platform is also open to local residents.

the 2nd part of the partnership will finance a psychologist position on the site. The aim is to organize preventive actions for students.

The inauguration of the cross-fit platform took place on October 6, 2022, in the presence of Pascal Roché, President of Ramsay Sante Foundation and CEO of the Ramsay Santé group, Jean-Marc Sauvé, President of the Fondation Nationale de la Cité Internationale, and Laurence Marion, General Delegate of the Cité Internationale.
