Acadia and Accept, winners of the Prevent2care Tour in Lyon and Toulouse

The Prevent2Care Tour, a preventive healthcare tour of the French regions, stopped off in Lyon and before that in Toulouse.

 

On September 7, following a pitch session, the members of the jury rewarded an association from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. ACADIA was awarded €10,000 by Ramsay Sante Foundation, Pfizer Innovation France and INCO, partners of the Prevent2Care Tour. The prize money will be used to train 10 assistance dogs for young diabetics.

 

ACADIA commits to diabetes risk prevention for young people

Based in Livron-sur-Drôme (26), ACADIA is the 1st association in France to train assistance dogs for diabetics. Its project aims to train 10 assistance dogs, which detect and prevent variations in blood sugar levels, and hand them over to young beneficiaries.

In Toulouse, members of the jury for the 2nd leg of the Prevent2Care Tour chose to reward an association from the Occitanie region: ACCEPT. The €10,000 prize will enable it to develop its projects to support and screen LGBT+ people in rural areas.

 

ACCEPT association supports LGBT+ people in rural areas

Based in Saint-Gaudens, the association wants to create a mobile reception and screening center for LGBT+ people living in rural areas. The vehicle will travel on a weekly basis, according to a predefined schedule communicated in advance. It will facilitate access to screening, prevention, information, guidance and support for the people concerned.
