How do you deal with a sex-addicted partner?

Categories FAQ
Sex addiction
General

The behavior of a partner with a sexual addiction can be a source of great suffering. The feeling of betrayal, of not being able to meet his or her needs, becomes a source of suffering for the partner.

It's important to be able to understand that you have a medical problem, and to help your partner realize this so that he or she can seek professional help.

For further information, we recommend that you consult :

- The IFFS (Institut Français de Formation en Sexothérapie) website, with a special section on sex addiction
- The IFAC (Institut Fédératif des Addictions Comportementales) website, with a special page on sex addiction
- The Geneva University Hospitals website, and their special report on addictions
- The website of Dr Sanquer's practice, psychologist and sexologist

For support in cases of addiction, it's important to consult a professional such as a sexologist or addictologist.
